Why human use drugs?
Someone use for test, someone use for mental distress, someone use for forget about the past, someone use it for enjoying his Consumerist
life and someone use it for suicide. There are many kinds of Atheist in
our society. Someone become atheist because they don’t know much about
religions, someone become atheist by knowing the religions. Someone
became religious in his past but after seeing the gorgeousness of the
world he becomes Atheist letter. Moreover, some people live a luxury
life in his past but he failed to have peace in life then he bound to
accept the religious life. Drug addiction, free sex & divorces are
seen more widely among the Atheist. But today’s topic is Why relations between Atheism & Drug addiction is so deep? At first of the discussion lets see some survey though, without reference there is no value of writing:
In 2013 at Switzerland, a survey was taken about this.*
There was 5387 people & they were told to answer some questions.
Depending on there answer they were divided to 5 parts. Among those:
1st group : Believe in God & practice religion regularly
2nd group : Believe in higher spiritual power but don’t practice religion
3rd group : Don’t have any knowledge about God
4th group : Agnostics
5th group : Don’t believe in God, so Atheist.
In 1st
group, 543 people was religious & among them 30% was regular smoker,
20% was smoking more than one in a week, 1% use cocaine & other
drugs. But in 5th group, 1650 of the atheist 51% were regular smoker,
36% was smoking more than one in a week & 6% were using other drugs.
Other 3 groups calculation were between these two. So it is seen that
Atheist are more drug addicted than practicing theist. But why? Doesn’t
religious consciousness keep us away from those works? The most common
thing in drugs is alcohol. The most harmful effect of alcohol is :
Increase the risk of cancer (liver, colon, head, Neck, breast &
other organs), lack of nutrition, blood-letting in stomach, liver
Psoriasis which can cause instant death. Many Atheist claim that –“We buy drugs & use it of our own so what is your problem?”
But the speech here is, drug is not only harmful for one person but also for whole society. Lets see a statistics :
In 2008, an american statistics shows ,*
Every 1 citizen of 100 go to jail in America. Among those people, 80%
were related to drugs & alcohol. Moreover, a statistics of “National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism”
shows that 34% to 74% of the rapist addicted to alcohol. Day by day
people loosing faith in religion and for that reason they are addicted
to alcohol by failing to their own desire. Alcohol causes sleeping
problem, increase the risk of suicide, increase the Disappointment,
downfall the relation between couples that end up with divorce, car
accident, inspire in free unsafe sex, society with highest alcoholic
people has the highest violence rate [Reference No- 4]. We are seeing
the proof that a huge part of criminals in a society are related to
harmful substances. Besides, in the upper writing we see that most of
the Atheist are related to harmful substances. So most of the Atheists
are drug addicted & most of the prisoners are drug addicted.
Therefore, according to mathematical calculation: most atheist = most
prisoner.
But, what
does religion say about it? Almost all the religion opposed it from the
ancient time except Atheism (though its not a religion). There is some
reference below:
1. “Also, do not get drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery. [Bible of Christian Scripture : Ephesians: 5:18]2. “I undertake the training rule to abstain from fermented and distilled intoxicants which are the basis for heedlessness.” [Fifth Precept of Buddhist Scripture]
3. “A priest-killer, a liquor drinker, a thief and a violator of his guru’s marriage bed – all of these, and each separately, should be known as men who committed major crime.” [Manu Smriti Of Hindu Scripture Ch 9: Verse 235]
4. “O believers! Intoxicants and gambling (games of chance), dedication to stones (paying tribute to idols) and division by arrows (lottery) are the filthy works of Shaitan. Get away from them, so that you may prosper. [Quran of Muslim Scripture: 5:90]
Therefore
it is seen that, almost all the religion forbids alcohol, gambling,
drugs, adultery. So if a religious man obey his religion very deeply,
drugs never can touch him whatever which religion he is following. But
if he is an Atheist then what will happen? He/she is someones father or
mother. May be he/she is someones child. When he die suddenly through
drugs, a family loose their one & only source of income. Even, the
balance of a society get spoiled indirectly. I’m not saying all the
Atheist are bad. Their are many Atheist who like to share the good
things of religions. Such as: Mark Zuckerburg said in his Facebook
status :- “Scripture tells us that we shall not oppress a stranger, for we know the heart of a stranger — we were strangers once, too.” Though all the Atheist are not same. This article is only for the Atheist who believe in freedom of Evil inclination.
